Felicitas: dealing with COVID restrictions

The last year has been a challenge for choirs across the country but Felicitas kept busy and would like to share with you its latest virtual performance which features the opening chorale from J.S Bach’s motet Jesu, meine Freude.

There is no charge to watch these recordings but if you would like to help offset the loss of ticket sales due to Covid, we would be extremely grateful. Please email treasurer@felicitas.org.uk for ways of making a donation.

Latest News

Felicitas is recruiting

Felicitas has a vacancy for a tenor due to the departure of one of its members. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at St Mary’s Church, South Woodford, E18 (very near to the Central line) and gives three concerts each year, as well as undertaking the occasional tour, festival and CD recording. Those interested would be invited to attend a rehearsal and an audition with the choir’s director, Simon Winters. The choir prides itself on its high musical standard as well as the excellent rapport amongst members. For more information, please email director@felicitas.org.uk.

Latest recording

New CDOur latest CD, priced at only £10.00, is entitled “In a cold winter’s night”. The underlying theme behind this recording is one of celebration in firstly saying thank you and goodbye to a small number of choir members and secondly to donate all sale proceeds to ‘Blood cancer UK’ formerly known as ‘Bloodwise’, for the years of pioneering research into blood cancers. This CD was launched in time for Christmas 2019 and the seasonal programme includes favourites such as Lauridsen’s ‘O magnum mysterium’ and Adolphe Adam’s ‘O holy night’ arranged by John Rutter. These are contrasted by a selection of works dating back many centuries. You can also enjoy listening to the superb sounds of the Felicitas Chamber Choir by purchasing any of our previous four CDs, now priced at only £5.00 each. For more information, visit our Recordings page.
